Talav
Talav is the Human name for the fertile lands between the great western sea and the barren eastern wastes.
It has no overarching government or authority and other species have their own names for it. It is defined mostly by the ocean and inhospitable desert that surround it.
While Talav is dotted with ancient ruins that sometimes bear Human faces, most of the modern Human population is descended from settlers that have come from the islands over the last 250 years. Friction between these settlers and the indigenous Human population – as well as Talav’s other species – is a constant source of friction.

Regions of Talav
Wesfalle
A large fertile country with a mild climate, nestled between the sea to the West and the Luath River to the East. The country has few cities and is mostly farmland. Each town and village is more or less self governing. Some of the bigger villages and towns have sheriffs, but most prefer to post bounties for adventurers to deal with bandits and other undesirables.
Suterlan
Centered on Ben Droigh, Suterlan is a far flung region of rolling hills and forests which is prone to occasional powerful winter storms, this region has seen rapid growth in Human settlements in recent years, but Humans are still relatively rare and settlements tend to be scattered far afield and have little contact with each other.
Eoserlan
This band of settlements follows the great eastern valley which stretches for hundreds of miles and stretches from the eastern banks of the Luath river to the foothills of the Eacads, wraping around Wesfalle from Northeast to Southeast in a wide arc.
The Borders
The wide rolling foothills on the western side of the Eacad Mountain range that flank and frame Eoserlan, the Borders are the least settled (by Humans) region of Talav.
Rocky soils and high elevations make most of the region unsuitable for farming. Instead most settlement here is pastoral – primarily sheep and goats. The threat of Sealgairean raiders coming through the passes limits the flow of Human settlers and keeps local Militias sharp.
Fasak
The great eastern desert beyond the towering Eacad mountains that rise like a fortress for the gods. This arid expanse of sand and stone is home to the Sealgairean, hunters whose language has no word for “mercy,” and who see all other species as food.

Regions of Fasak
The Western Sands
A land of desolate beauty, the Western Sands hug the eastern side of the Eacads. Receiving less than a foot of rain a year on average, only the most tenacious life can survive here.
Sealgairean settlement here is tightly limited by the locations of a few deep wells that provide just enough water to let clans survive. Only the bravest or most foolhardy go deeper into the sands.
The Salt
The great salt basin at the center of the continent is all that remains of an ancient sea. Mile upon mile of white salt-sand covers the ground here.
The merciless Salt Lords rule this seemingly endless expanse with an iron fist. Their traders are some of the only reliable commerce in Fasak and deal in salt, slaves, and more. No one knows what is to the east of them – no one has ever made the trip across the salt and returned.
Frozen Desert
In the far north of Fasak the heat gives way to an entirely different sort of desert – one where only a little falls but ice temperatures keep it locked in endless ice at the surface.
Oryx Savanna
The great thundering Oryx herds make their home in this vast grassland that frames southern Fasak. Unlike the Desert and Salt clans, Sealgairean here are nomadic and follow the herds, protecting them from rival clans and taking what they need to live well.
